Pardon me for not updating the blog for a while.
Here is a run down of the rest of the sessions in 2008:
We had a Thanksgiving BBQ at my apartment on Nov 12th. Good turn out. Approximately 15? Was the first activity that members starting to invite friends. My housemates came down too.
Another CG on Nov 19th. Dylan led worship for the first time. Colin bought a cake for the caregroup. Kwang who moved further north to Union City still came down despite us meeting in Sunnyvale. (its a 50min drive)
A group of us went up to help Micheal build his house again on Nov 29th.
Subsequent meetings in Dec starts to see a down in turn out. For one session, only Simon and I were there. For another session, it was Simon, Priscilla and I only. We started to have the venue ball being dropped too. Lost the venue on the day of the caregroup, had to go to a cafe as emergency. I feel the drop in attendance is due to the time of the year. This is the time where people have fierce deadlines to meet for work before the holidays. Also the time that students have year end exams. Nonetheless, it is a glimpse of how the caregroup can still die and have no one showing up.
The last caregroup of 2008 was on Dec 17th. The turn out had a turn around. Of note, 2 non believers, Jenny and David Ito, came down because they want to catch the group before 2008 ends and to catch up with me before I go back to Singapore for vacation. My heart prays for them to find God this 2009.
And this is how the ministry ended in 2008!
Looking back, though for many many times, schedule has ran crazy for me and I think I won't make it, looking at the ministry and how people can grow in Christ with this group, being in God's will makes me feel its worth it.
I have more prayerful thoughts on the ministry when I went back to Singapore for a 10 day vacation. More on that.... stay tuned.
